What’s Going On – 2nd Edition

Once again I have neglected my personal blog lately. I really have no excuse since I have a post calendar and easy content embeds in WordPress that should make writing quick posts and managing a blog quite simple. I will try harder and I have already started scheduling a few posts for later this week. Let’s see how long that lasts.

Over on Loaded Trolley we have been under the pump gathering data for a 12 week price survey. That has really slowed down generating content but we are somewhat back onboard to get some more posts up over there. Loaded Trolley is the project with the most traffic I have at the moment and I like the challenge it presents but it can be draining sometimes.

Rightly or wrongly I have started another blog called LivingRoomRaceway.com. It all started when I had this idea in my head about building a modular race track for my Losi Micro Desert Truck and other ‘micro’ scale RC cars. I toyed with putting the build on this blog but I really felt it needed its own platform. I only envisage it being a project that runs 6 to 9 months for the bulk of the work with occasional updates after that but I will see where it takes me.

And finally the last time a wrote a ‘What’s Going On’ post I mentioned doing some light painting. I did do a little and that is a topic for another post but I have bigger plans going forward for that…yes, another project to neglect in the fullness of time. I have finally gotten my camera back from being checked and serviced so I hope to get into that more light painting now daylight savings is over.

And now for my new oath. I do solemnly swear I will not neglect any of my projects I am working on. My health on the other hand could go either way, but if I can continue to ride to work twice a week and play inline hockey twice a week it might be in with a chance.

Blogging From Android

It’s been a while since I last posted here. I thought life would slow down after BMX nationals in May, but life just seemed to get busier. Well I have a little bit of time this weekend…no BMX, no major plans and a day off on Monday. So here I am, blogging from my new Samsung Galaxy S.

This is the phone I really needed a couple of years ago when I got my Blackberry. After a week with it, I highly recommend it to anyone looking at a new smartphone.

The phone runs on the Android platform which has been developed by Google. With the app store for it (Android Market) catching up with the Apple App store for content, this phone is a real contender when you put it up against the iPhone4.

One of the things I love about the phone is the Swype method of text input. When some people, often iPhone fanboys, see me using Swype they ask me what I am doing. I show them and they just have to have a go. They love it. In fact, this whole article has been written using Swype.

So there you go. Blogging from my Samsung Galaxy S. Great phone, great platform. Expect more blog posts from me on the go now!

The neglectful blogger

Yes, I am. It has been a busy couple of weeks since the launch of ATM Fee Tracker Australia, so I have been neglecting what little posting of junk I had been doing over here. So here is a random video from my YouTube favorites…some old John Stewart stand-up from 1996.

I’m Back….

….for another sporadic round of blogging. Well, I never really went anywhere, I just got busy.

Still Suck at Blogging

Yep, it has been a while. Since I last posted, the Redwings won the Stanley Cup in 6 games, I finally bought a new BMX and I finally had my first BMX crash—es!

But the most important thing I have done this week was upgrade my WordPress blog software. I went from v2.2 to v2.6, and the upgrade had only one glitch, which was a pain to fix. Somewhere along the way the tables in the database for categories changed. The new install upgraded my database with the new tables, but forgot to pull the actual category names and SLUGs across. Bad Boy Bloggy

OK, I must be one of the worst bloggers in the world. Anything in my life seems to be either secret due to the nature of my work or too personal to share. Crunch-to-boot, I don’t even really have time for  blog…I am turning my home PC on once a week instead of once a day like I used to. I don’t even go to the forums I used to anymore!

I do have some stuff to write about my trip to Detroit, but more on that later…if I can find the time!

Regrads too yuo

Why is it that I always accidently spell ‘regards’ as ‘regrads’ when I am signing off my email. Am I a dyslexic typist?

The beginning of the….

End?

Well, I am now armed with a blog and dangerous.

I don’t actually have anything to say, but I figured I had better post something anyway.
