Flickr Friday: Taiwan Glass Gallery

Here is a quick shot from my Flickr favorites from a user I follow called Yameme. This is his image of the Taiwan Glass Gallery in Changhua. A very cool reflection shot.

YouTube Tuesday: Casey Neistat At A Crazy German Water Park

Casey Neistat, along with his son Owen, head to a German Water Park housed in a giant aircraft hangar style building.

You know what I find most fascinating about this video, you can do almost anything you want on the slides at this park. You can go down a slide with two or more people, go down with or without an inflatable, go head first or, apparently, wander in at night.

Oh, and I am fascinated by the simple slide at 1:10. Where are these basic slides at Australian water parks? We have too much emphasis on bigger and faster when sometimes you just want to go head first in the pool.

Flickr Friday: Karaoke By Anping Beach

Taiwan is certainly an interesting place. It is a cultural cocktail of east with a splash of west and tradition is topped with modern. It was no more apparent than the Karaoke and Tea Truck parked at Anping Beach, just off Sicao Bridge, in Tainan. This guy belted out a local classic quite nicely. Stairway was not on his playlist.

Flickr Friday – Taiwan Roundabout

Despite the obvious American influences they do have a penchant for roundabouts in Taiwan. This picture is in my Flickr favorites and the photographer is user ‘freedom791003‘.

Flickr Friday – Depth Of Field

Here is one of my pictures from the National Palace Museum in Taipei, Taiwan. It was shot at 70mm with an f2.8 aperture on my Canon 1D MK4 using a the 24-70 f2.8 L-Series Lens.

YouTube Tuesday – Top Thrill Dragster At Cedar Point

If everything falls in to place I may finally get to Cedar Point next year. Top Thrill Dragster is the ride that first alerted me to what many consider the greatest roller coaster theme park in the world but there is so much more there and they add new rides every year. I wonder what they will build next.

Flickr Friday – Taiwan Street Food

Another image from my last trip to Taiwan. This street front eatery was quite busy on the Sunday I was wandering around Tainan. I guess the food must be good.

Flickr Friday – Back In Taiwan

Here is another picture from my last trip to Taiwan. There are paper lanterns everywhere in the lead up to a holiday in Taiwan and the Autumn Moon Festival was right around the corner on my last trip. I found this one hanging in a string of paper lanterns down an alley.

I was messing around with the clarity slider on this photo as I normally turn the clarity up a little, or a lot in some cases. On this image I dropped the clarity right off to -100 because I liked the effect it had.

Flickr Friday – Taiwan Beef Noodle Shop

Here is a picture of mine from a business trip I took last year to Taiwan. I spent most of my time in Tainan towards the south of the Taiwan island on that trip.

This photo was taken outside a beef noodle shop that I was told has the best beef noodles in Tainan and, in the local’s opinion, the best in Taiwan. All the cooking and dishwashing happens outside which seems a little unusual to westerners and perhaps even concerning if you are going to eat there. And I did eat there. The noodles were quite good but apparently I got the wrong ones. The dry noodles are the specialty but I had a noodle soup. No stomach issues afterwards either!
