Victorian Bushfires

Our hearts go out to those affected by the bushfire around Victoria and around the country. I shot this picture tonight from the front of my house in Doncaster looking out towards the Kinglake and Mt. Dissapointment area. I can’t even imagine what it must be like to come face to face with this kind of situation.

As the emergency services have noted, stay away from the fire areas if you are not affected. There is no need for looky-lous getting in their way.

It’s so devastating. Many families from our school have lost their homes, escaping with nothing. Some families have lost relatives and friends in the fires.
Our teaching staff have been directly affected with their houses lost to the fires, and some with family members missing.
Sirens are still ringing regularly up Plenty Rd and we’ve just heard that the pine plantation in Kinglake is on fire again and that the fire is moving onto Yea.
Everyone who lives or works in this community have been affected, but we are all working together to make sure people are supported to try and get through the tragedy the best we can.
