It was back to another track today for round 2 of the 2009 Track Attack. Today was my home track of Park Orchards. Helping out the club with officiating duties meant I had a decent excuse for not riding this round, but I am running out of reasons as to why I am not on the track. I had a good excuse back in 2008 as I got shipped to Detroit for 3 weeks, but no such luck this year.

Since I was helping out, I handed most of the camera duties over to the boss (ie. the household managing director, the mother of my child, the one who both makes me insane and keeps me sane, the love of my life etc.). When I say most, I mean I got to do practice and she did the rest. After my first effort at shooting fireworks on New Year’s Eve, I found an article in my email on how to shoot fireworks the right way. As it turns out, I guessed most of the settings to use correctly except for one…..the darn ISO speed setting.

Now I know, I am searching for an Australia Day fireworks spectacular to shoot!

After riding the You Yangs the other day, we decided the family decided we were keen for another MTB ride this holidays. We always said there was a reason we avoid riding our mountain bikes in summer….SNAKES. However, we had only ever seen one near a trail in all the time we have been mountain biking.

Well, that changed today when I had a small tiger snake wander across the path in front of me. It was far enough away for me to stop with plenty of distance between us, but it still freaked me out.
